Each of the individuals who will serve in this job has already served as club president. Each has demonstrated him/herself to be a great Rotarian and has lived our Rotary motto "Service Above Self." Their job is to assist the clubs they are responsible for in any way possible. This would include, but is not limited to, advising their clubs in formulating club plans and objectives, assessing and selecting key committee chair people, and promoting attendance at PETS, District Assembly, District Conference, and other appropriate district functions.

Before the Governor's annual visit, the Assistant Governor already will have met with the Club Presidents and other key club officials who will serve during the Rotary year. They will make their own individual assessment of their clubs. This assessment will include club activities, leadership, club strengths and weaknesses. This assessment will be made available to the Governor to better prepare the Governor for the official visit. The job of these special people is to help the clubs do a better job in accomplishing their club goals and objectives.

Their job will be characterized as "active" versus "passive." They will be visiting their clubs from time-to-time making assessments concerning the progress the clubs are making, assisting the clubs in resolving problems, developing membership, improving attendance, focusing the club's efforts toward accomplishing specific objectives in the four avenues of service, and helping their assigned clubs to attain the Rotary International Presidential Club Citation.

Their mission, simply stated, is to help and assist, both the clubs and the District Governor and other district leaders.
