Freda Sue and I are really enjoying
ourselves with the District’s work. We have been
visiting clubs for the last three weeks. We have been
welcomed with open arms, and we have been made to feel so very
welcome. All the clubs seem to be so positive and
enthusiastic. Clubs are also very different in several
ways, and what works for one club may or may not work for
another. We are eagerly looking forward to our visits at
the remainder of the clubs.
Most of the committees have begun their work in their
areas. Youth Exchange, Group Study Exchange, and Rotary Leadership Academy
are just a few of the areas that are
making plans and getting ready to make a
difference.
Oh, one word about the International Convention in Salt Lake City
during the period 14-20 June 2007:
rooms are going fast. One Rotarian from our district, a
PDG, received his third choice of hotels. Registration form and hotel reservations can
be downloaded from the website, or it can be accomplished
online. If you have problems with registrations, contact
me for hard copy forms.

Subject: Ruth
McGinnis
Excerpt from Brentwood
Newsletter:
Many of you will remember
Ruth from District Conferences, playing the Star Spangled
Banner on the Violin.
As many of you know, "our
own" Ruth McGinnis, Paul Harris Fellow and outstanding
violinist, underwent very serious surgery last Friday.
It has been determined that Ruth is quite ill with
cancer. Many of us feel very close to her because of the
many appearances for special occasions she has made before our
club. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and
prayers. If you would like to send her a note to let her
know we are thinking of her, the address is: Ruth McGinnis,
905 Cantrell Avenue, Nashville, TN 37215.

Each club
is asked to send their club Youth Exchange
Officer (YEO) or a representative. You
will not want to miss this day of youth exchange
activities. We will hear from our two returning
Tennessee students,
Kacey Rice and Kaitlyn Hamilton, who have spent
the last 11 months in the Netherlands and Germany,
respectively. Kacey is sponsored by the Lewisburg
RC: Kaitlyn is sponsored by the Columbia Noon
Rotary Club. This will also be an opportunity to
meet our new international in-bound students. It
appears that District 6760 will host up
to seven students for the coming year, beginning
in August, 2006.
In
addition, Alan Wylie, our friend and long-time
youth exchange officer from Houston, Texas will be
present to train all attending Rotarians on recent
changes in the Rotary International youth exchange
program. Please mark your calendar for
August 12, 2006 for this district-wide
event.
Contact our District 6760 YEO
Officer, Tommy Martin with any
questions or to RSVP so he can reserve your lunch
at tmartin@pbbanking.com or
call 931-676-3311. Anyone interested in
