Time to start the process of selecting your contestant to represent your club in the District Four-Way Test Speech Contest. The District Semi-Finals will be May 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park, 4215 Long Lane, Franklin, TN 37064. The Finals will be Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the District Conference at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, 700 Cool Springs Blvd., Franklin, TN 37067. The District Winner will receive a $1,000.00 award. The main goal of this contest is to develop future leaders promoting ethical behavior.

Students will create a speech, selecting a topic of their choice, addressing an ethical problem using the principals of the 4 – Way Test. In the speech, the topic must be
specifically related (connected) to the Rotary 4-Way Test. Each one of the four parts of the Four Way Test should be addressed during the speech. They should be
specifically stated, as the intent of the speech is to use the Four Way Test to guide one’s decision making about an issue.

A youtube site has been created with informational videos to assist students in preparing for the speech contest at www.youtube.com/user/rotaryspeechcontest.

Each club should have a local winner selected by April 20, 2018. Club winners will compete with other District club winners in a semi-finals contest in Franklin
on May 5, 2017. The top three (3) selected in the semi-finals compete at the District Conference.

Complete contest details, including support material, have been forwarded to all club presidents and can also be found in the links below. If you have any
